Compressing with pressure and high resolution with PSP Audioware

PSP Audioware's Impressor, which replaces the previous compressor plug-in Mixpressor, offers more functions and a new look. The compression technology is based on a quad-sampling engine that processes enormously high resolutions of up to 400 kHz.

Both busses and single tracks (e.g. vocals, drums and acoustic guitars) can take advantage of this. The plug-in can emulate the circuits of modern compressors, as well as those of tube and opto-electronic devices.

The mixing tool has four auto-attack and four release modes. Soft knee characteristics. In addition, there is a configurable sidechain filter that not only invites creative pumping effects, but also de-essing tasks. Also new are the output limiter and the feedback forward mode, which complements the previously available feedforward mode. The compression modes have also been refined.



Price and availability

Until March 14, Impressor is available for purchase at the reduced introductory price of $69 (regularly $99). Designed with a scalable user interface, the plug-in supports AU, VST, VST3 and AAX formats.
