Free orchestral instrument: Orchestral Tools releases Layer

Published 6:08 am on Tuesday 22nd September 2020 by Beat Magazine

Layers offers individual string, woodwind, and brass sections plus a full orchestra patch. Each group of instruments includes multiple articulations, from short staccato performances to longer sustains. With Layers, users play chords by pressing single keys. It includes major, minor, and suspended chords—in multiple inversions—plus single bass notes.

Layers offers according to Orchestral Tools a full orchestral patch, with which users can add layers of strings, woodwinds, and brass section by just using the modulation wheel on their MIDI keyboard.

Like all Orchestral Tools collections, the instruments for Layers were allegedly recorded on the renowned Teldex Scoring Stage in Berlin. Each instrument section features musicians from contemporary Berlin orchestras. Engineers used the finest microphones in multiple positions and configurations, which users can select and mix within the SINE player interface.

Price and availability

Layers is available today as a free download. Layers runs exclusively within the free SINE player, available for free. Further information on this subject as well as the product can be found on the manufacturer's website.
