Bouncing to new tracks becomes effortless in 12.2: Clips or time ranges from MIDI or audio tracks can be exported to new audio tracks with just a few clicks – including all effects. "Bounce Track in Place" even converts entire tracks to audio.
Discover New and Improved Sounds
Auto Filter, a staple of Live since its inception, presents itself in a new guise and sound. Innovative filter types like Vowel, DJ, and Comb invite experimentation, while the revamped modulation section, new mixing controls, and real-time visualization enable precise sound design. For the first time, Auto Filter is also available in Move and Note.
Expressive Chords, an MPE-capable Max for Live application, enables intuitive discovery of chords and sequences on all Live 12 editions and Push. New harmonic territories can be explored playfully, and expressive results can be achieved with MPE controllers.
Roar, the saturation and modulation powerhouse of Live 12 Suite, receives a new delay routing mode, a dispersion filter type, and external audio and MIDI sidechain options. The Chord oscillator in Meld allows chord formation from a single MIDI note, while a new scrambler LFO effect opens up additional sonic possibilities. Spectral Resonator and Resonators now support Live 12's scale recognition and tuning systems.
Easier Searching, Tagging, and Browsing
Live's browser has been redesigned to streamline content finding and organization. Quick Tags, an optimized filter view, and customizable interfaces ensure a more efficient workflow.
For Push users, Live 12.2 offers extensive creative functions. With Expressive 16 Pitches, melodies can be created from drum and one-shot samples with MPE control. Follow Actions, Groove Pool, tuning systems, and Bounce to New Track are now also available on Push. The "External Audio Effect" seamlessly integrates hardware effects into Push sets.
Live 12 license holders can sign up for the Ableton Beta program to try out the new features.
